Computer Clubs for 2013
We offer a computer clubs where you can enhance your knowledge of your computer and the internet. Each club has different prerequisites for computer skills that are listed in the summaries of each club below. (For your information, click here for the list of Computer Clubs for 2012.)
The membership is yearly, January through November. Registration has started. Each Club meets monthly on its designated day of the month and time. If there are vacancies or openings in any club, you are welcome to join in mid-year. Enrollment in all clubs is limited to available space. Know Your PC Club
Schedule:
The club meets the third Tuesday of each month, January through November, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am.

Prerequisites:
This club is for intermediate students who already know basic functions of a Windows computer and who want to expand their knowledge of using a computer more functionally and efficiently.
Description:
Each monthly session will feature one or more topics based on students' input and requests. The club purpose is to make your computer use more enjoyable and productive. The more you know about your computer, the more you will get out of it. Handouts will be available for use at home.
Goals:
Each month's topics will vary, based on input from students and may include, but not be limited to, such things as the following:
- Computer configuration
- File and Folder management
- Security
- Using applications such as Word, Photo Editing, eMail, etc.
- Searching the Internet
- Social Networking
- Computer maintenance

Internet Club
Schedule:

The more you know about the Internet, the more you will get out of it. Handouts will be available for use at home.

- Each month’s topics will vary, based on input from students and may include but not limited to such things as:
- What is a browser?
- How to configure browsers
- Internet security
- What are web based vs. computer based client eMail accounts?
- What are search Booleans and how to use them
- How to find people or ancestors
- How to plan a trip/vacation
- Print Preview
- Social Networking
- Skyping
- Finding tutorials for applications or solutions to problems/errors
- Creating a personal webpage or blog.

Macintosh Club
Schedule:
Meets the first Tuesday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. each month, February through December.
Fee:
$70/year
Prerequisites:
Must be able to bring a Mac Laptop to use in order to participate. Bring your own computer.
Description::
- Each month’s topics will vary, based on input from students and may include but not limited to such things as:
- Know your computer set up, how to find files, how to download applications
- Answer YOUR questions - The class will be driven by participant's interests
- Learn about the software that comes with the computer (iPhoto, iTunes, Garage Band, iMovie)
- Work with photos to create projects.
- Organize the files on your computer so that you can find everything.
- Troubleshoot problems with your Mac.
