Computer Clubs for 2012
We offer a computer clubs where you can enhance your knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products or learn how to get the most from your computer. Each club has different prerequisites for computer skills that are listed in the summaries of each club below.
The membership is yearly, January through November. Registration has started. Each Club meets monthly on its designated day of the month and time. If there are vacancies or openings in any club, you are welcome to join in mid-year. Enrollment in all clubs is limited to available space. Know Your PC Club (formerly called "Getting Most from Computer Club")
Schedule:
The club meets the third Tuesday of each month, January through November, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am.
Fee:
$70/year
Prerequisites:
This club is for intermediate students who already know basic functions of a Windows computer and who want to expand their knowledge of using a computer more functionally and efficiently.
Description:
Each monthly session will feature one or more topics based on students' input and requests. The club purpose is to make your computer use more enjoyable and productive. The more you know about your computer, the more you will get out of it. Handouts will be available for use at home.
Goals:
Each month's topics will vary, based on input from students and may include, but not be limited to, such things as the following:
- Computer configuration
- File and Folder management
- Security
- Using applications such as Word, Photo Editing, eMail, etc.
- Searching the Internet
- Social Networking
- Computer maintenance

Description:
Students determine which of the seven MicroSoft Office Professional Applications are covered throughout the year. The Office version used in class is 2010. Features and functions are similar in all versions of Office but the user interfaces are only similar in 2007 and 2010. Handouts will be available for use at home.
Goals: (May vary based on students’ questions and requests)
- Learn the main features and functions of the various applications in Office
