Organizing Your Computer Files
Prerequisites:
Basic knowledge of Windows, menus, the keyboard and mouse.

Description:
This is a more leisurely paced hands-on tour of organizing files and folders on your personal computer. Being able to quickly find and maintain your important data files is critical to using your computer efficiently and effectively. It also makes it easier to back up this data.
This class is offered on the Windows 7 operating systems in the lab, but the class handouts will explain how to do everything on Vista or some earlier versions you may have at home.
This is NOT a beginner's class on the basics of the computer.
Goals:
- Use the Documents window
- Make and remove folders in Documents
- Create or copy folders to the Desktop
- Use a Desktop folder
- Multi-select and move files into folders
- Search for duplicate files
- Back up your data
- Remove and restore Desktop folders
