Description:

Photowalking is the act of walking with a camera for the main purpose of taking pictures of things that the photographer may find interesting.

It is often a communal activity organized by camera clubs, online forums or commercial organizations, sometimes in the form of a walking tour. Often the aim is to practice and improve one's own photography skills rather than a specific focus on documentary photography.

Doug Miller, a local renowned photographer is conducting our first Photo Walkabout. He will lead a group of photographers on an assignment for the purpose of obtaining that perfect photo shot. He will give hands-on instruction in the field with assistants. It will be necessary to bring a tripod, as it will be sunset when the Photo Walkabout takes place.

The second part of the seminar will be conducted back in the ACLC computer lab, where post processing techniques will be taught and critiqued.

Goals:

  • Improve your camera skills
  • Improve your photo-taking abilities
  • Learn how to be more creative
  • Learn about post-processing
